This Department was established at JKP in 2008 with intake of 60. The diploma programme in Electronics & Communication engineering aims at training young engineers to select, operate and maintain the communication facilities – and other related electronics system which are today being put in place in the government, semi-government and private sectors. Opportunities also exist for self-employment in this exciting and fast developing sector of the economy. “Electronics is the brain of Modern Technology”. Even the computer is an electronic device. It is an evergreen subject that provides opportunities for technicians in following areas of Engineering like Maintenance & Service, Research Assistance, Production Control, Quality Control and Marketing. The service of electronic technicians is required in companies like ISRO, DRDO, BEL, INTEL, IBM, AMD, SONY, SAMSUNG, PHILIPS, NASA, National Electronics, and National Semiconductors. Diploma in Electronics also provides much choice of subjects for higher studies like Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunication, Medical Electronics, Mechatronics and Computer Science. We have following well equipped laboratories:

• Microprocessor Embedded Technology and VLSI Lab.
• Project, consumer and Troubleshooting Lab.
• Analog and Digital Communication Lab.
• Instrumentation Lab.
• EDS and Basic Electronics lab.
